Capturing Photos

This section explains how to capture photos and add them to your work in WorkPhotos.

  • How do I take photos in WorkPhotos?

    You can take photos directly within the WorkPhotos app using your device’s camera.

    Do photos get added to my work automatically?

    Yes. Photos taken in the app are automatically added to your selected job or work item.

    Can I take multiple photos in one session?

    Yes. You can capture multiple photos and add them to the same job. You can add up to 50 images at a time.

    Do I need an internet connection to take photos?

    An internet connection is required to upload and attach photos to your work. If your connection drops, photos may be captured locally on your device and uploaded once you are back online.

    Are photos timestamped when taken?

    Yes. Photos captured in the app include a timestamp set at the time the photo is added to WorkPhotos.

    Does photo quality differ when taking photos in the app?

    Photo quality follows your user settings. Free users capture photos at standard resolution. Paid users can enable high-resolution photo capture.

    Do photos taken in the app include a watermark?

    Photos added to free workspaces include a WorkPhotos watermark. Watermarks are automatically removed for photos added to paid workspaces.

  • Can I upload photos I’ve already taken?

    Yes. You can upload existing photos from your device into WorkPhotos.

    How do I upload existing photos?

    To upload existing photos, tap the camera button in WorkPhotos to open the photo capture screen. On that screen, tap the upload icon (photo with a plus symbol) to select photos from your device and add them to your job.

    Are uploaded photos treated the same as photos taken in the app?

    Yes. Uploaded photos are added to your work in the same way as photos captured in the app.

    Is there a limit to how many photos I can upload at once?

    You can upload up to 50 images at a time.

    Do uploaded photos keep their original timestamps?

    No. Photo timestamps are set at the time the photo is uploaded to WorkPhotos, not when the photo was originally taken.

  • What are photo timestamps?

    Photo timestamps record when a photo is added to WorkPhotos. This timestamp is used in job timelines, reports, and exports.

    When is the timestamp applied?

    Photo timestamps are set at the time the photo is uploaded to WorkPhotos, whether the photo is taken in the app or uploaded from your device.

    Can I control photo timestamps?

    Yes. Photo timestamps are configured per user in the WorkPhotos app settings.

    How do I enable or disable photo timestamps?

    You can turn photo timestamps on or off in the WorkPhotos app under User Settings → Image timestamps.

    Does this setting affect all my photos?

    Yes. The timestamp setting applies to all photos you add to WorkPhotos while the setting is enabled.

    Do uploaded photos keep their original camera timestamps?

    No. WorkPhotos does not use the original camera timestamp. The timestamp reflects when the photo is added to WorkPhotos.

  • How is photo quality determined?

    Photo quality depends on your device’s camera capabilities and your WorkPhotos user settings.

    What resolution are photos captured at by default?

    By default, photos are captured and uploaded at standard resolution.

    Can I enable high-resolution photos?

    Yes. High-resolution (Full HD) photo capture is available to premium users and can be enabled per user.

    Where do I enable high-resolution photos?

    You can enable high-resolution photos in the WorkPhotos app under User Settings → Full HD Images.

    Does this setting apply to all photos I take or upload?

    Yes. When enabled, high-resolution applies to all photos you add to WorkPhotos, whether they are taken in the app or uploaded from your device.

    Does high-resolution affect storage or performance?

    High-resolution photos may use more storage and bandwidth, depending on your device and network connection.

  • What are photo watermarks?

    Watermarks are visual markers added to photos to indicate they were created using WorkPhotos.

    When are watermarks applied?

    Watermarks are applied to photos in free workspaces.

    How are watermarks removed?

    Watermarks are automatically removed for premium workspaces. No additional settings or actions are required.

    Does upgrading remove watermarks from existing photos?

    Yes. When a workspace is upgraded to premium, watermarks are removed from all photos in that workspace, including photos that were added before the upgrade.

    Do watermarks apply differently to uploaded photos and photos taken in the app?

    No. Watermark rules are the same for all photos, regardless of whether they are taken in the app or uploaded from your device.

  • Where are my photos stored?

    All photos added to WorkPhotos are securely stored in cloud storage.


    Is my data stored locally on my device?

    Photos are uploaded to WorkPhotos cloud storage and associated with your account and workspace. Depending on your device and settings, temporary local copies may exist on your device until upload is complete.


    What cloud storage does WorkPhotos use?

    WorkPhotos stores photos in Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service), a secure and widely used cloud storage service.


    Who can access my photos?

    Photos are intended to be accessed only by users with permission in your WorkPhotos workspace. If a direct image link is shared, anyone with that link may be able to view the image.

    Are my photos backed up?

    Photos stored in WorkPhotos are retained in cloud storage as part of your account until they are deleted or your account is removed.


    Can photos also be saved on my device?

    Yes. You can choose to save photos to your device by enabling Store Images Locally in the WorkPhotos app under User Settings. When enabled, photos are saved to your device in addition to being uploaded to WorkPhotos.
